It would be an understatement to say I had an awesome birthday (though I am feeling the ravages of the long weekend this morning). Greasewood Flat was a hoot and I think everyone had a good time. Mix good music and decent booze with a fun group of people and you’re almost always guaranteed a hit.
Then things got downright silly.
Seaman Recruit Jessica very kindly picked us up from the party (when she leaves for the Navy, we will sadly lose our designated driver besides missing her charming company). And I’m not sure how it got started other than the fact that I had hat hair from wearing a cowboy hat all night and needed some sort of flat hair camouflage. When my mother downsized to a condo, she also reduced the size of her hat collection and, since she cannot bear to completely part with anything, we received a whole lot of headgear.
Let the show begin.
Shall we start with the white one?
Did someone tell me to pucker up?
Here is David the Husband doing the “Blue Steel” look from “Zoolander.”
Seaman Recruit Jessica had to actually look lovely and not silly at all, possibly as an admonishment for our behavior.
Then we moved to the black ones. Karen was confused as to proper strap placement.
Which we all found very funny, very, very funny.
Steve was having none of our silliness. In protest, he wore a pull-up on his head.
Which besmirched Karen’s honor.
Finally, we had to do at least one pirate impression.
As yesterday was my birthday proper, we repeated our scandalous behavior, only without our beloved Tisdales who had to be responsible and return to their jobs and offspring. We miss them already. My liver, however, does not.
You, David and Jessica (sorry, Navy-girl -- I thought it was Coast Guard!) are all uncommonly blessed in the looks department. No fair! But my liver and brain cells are happier...hee hee!

You know, there's one in every crowd....WHICH one it is in your crowd, however, is up for grabs at this point!
Happy Birthday!
