After receiving a rabble-rousing plea from Michelle for photos of “Madeline, Madeline, Madeline,” I dutifully took my handy dandy camera out to the ruminant pen to try to capture a bit of lambie cuteness.
After walking around the enclosure in search of a good shot, circling enough times to make me dizzy(er) as Madeline ran in fear from me (yes, my feelings are hurt), I gave up on the action shots and thought I’d just lie down in a mix of straw, hay and ruminant poo to capture Cookie and Madeline cuddling under the Palo Verde tree. The things I do for you people.
Here are daughter and mother posing as if directed by a photographer, “Lift your chin a little. That’s right. Now look slightly to the side. There.”
Yet, they seemed weary of my attention.
Even Madeline looked down right annoyed at my presence.
Until Cookie administered the final coup, letting me know in no uncertain terms it was time for me to skedaddle, which I promptly did.
So much for cute lamb-in-action shots.
Finally, V-watch wise, here’s the latest slightly sideways shot of Charlotte’s ever-growing backside.
Last week:
This week:
Is it my imagination or has she dropped some?
Well, it kind of reminds me of my dear DIL when baby arrived last year --- I was just an outside annoyance --- seems to apply to sheep as well! Yes, it looks to me as though she has dropped some, but might be the angle of the picture. That's a mighty cute rear end standing next to her!!

CUTE close-up of Madeline! Yep, she's definitely an Ag black sheep; if you catch her and part her fleece, you MAY see lighter roots already. And Cookie and Val do look very similar in their coloring - no fading on the face and legs and light bodies; Val shows a few spots, too.
Poor Charlotte; she IS "great with lamb"!

Hang in there, Lauren! She is close...do you have a lambing jug ready to go? :) I think there should be a bottle of bourbon in each shepherd's lambing kit...and NOT for the sheep!
