Who or What is She?

  • She calls herself Lauren but is also known as Mom, Gramma, Lar, and, once upon a time, Peach.
An ex-suburbanite who moved to the wilds of the Sonoran Desert and decided to raise fiber animals, fowl creatures, 3 halflings, and one pint-sized farmer without a clue as to how. Join Lauren as she learns how to file alpaca teeth, shear a horny goat, raise 3 teenagers and 1 grandchild while cooking dinner and doing the laundry with her other six arms.

Yikes! Your imagination is as vivid as mine. Sorry to freak you out about the insurance thing. It's been years since I read that, so maybe it's not in effect anymore. (I should think it would be illegal, myself.)

Kathy

OK, Lauren...it's time to either up the meds or reduce them! (rofl) :)

Uh....I thought I saw creepy stuff in the plastic too. The mold thing is awful. I am sending anti-mold mojo thoughts to you. And know you're not alone in the homeowners zone. Our sump pump broke in March during a thaw(I doubt you desert folk have sump pumps). Guess how much water we waded through to get out valuables and furniture high and dry? Guess how long we'll be dealing will the insurance company on the thousands of dollars on cleanup. It's scary in the homeowners zone.

I grew up with sump pumps in Michigan and they always go out at the worst time. I can remember being in the habit of LISTENING for it to on during rains or spring run-offs. When they give out, there is hell to pay!

On the other hand, in the desert they have evaporative coolers in the attics that bring the temps down unbelievably quickly --- until they don't work. Same process as the sump pump, but in reverse --- sort of.

Good luck with insurance --- whatever it is you're trying to get them to cover, it's going to be a battle. After all, it's THEIR money --- didn't they tell you that in the beginning???
